Forging characteristics of superalloy: low process plasticity, high deformation resistance, poor fluidity, narrow forging range, requirements for accurate control of heating and forging temperature, sensitivity to strain rate, sensitivity to stress state, easy dilution and embrittlement of surface alloy elements, easy absorption of surface, no substance based on clinical effect, no allotropic transformation, so heat treatment cannot be used to adjust the grain size and distribution of forgings, and cold work hardening tendency is obvious The recrystallization temperature is high and the speed is slow, the critical deformation range is wide, the thermal conductivity is low, and the cutting performance is poor

In the common alloy forging, the forging problems of superalloys are many and difficult, and they are typical representatives of hard to deform alloys. Superalloys have strict requirements on the stress state and process method of forging, as well as the loading speed of equipment. All superalloys cannot refine the grain structure through heat treatment, so the grain size is protected by controlling the forging process parameters. Generally, it is required to heat slowly in neutral atmosphere, and use glass protective lubricant to lubricate and protect the blank, mainly because of the low thermal conductivity. In order to reduce the depletion of alloy elements on the blank surface during heating and the surface cooling during forging, which will lead to the increase of deformation resistance and the decrease of plasticity

Based on the above characteristics, in order to produce special alloy forgings with geometric dimensions and metallurgical quality meeting the requirements, targeted technical measures need to be taken according to different characteristics, including process measures, forging and die design measures, quality control measures, forging performance test (basis for selecting thermodynamic parameters) and forging process simulation
